Job Description: The Knoxville Civil Unit Manager will provide leadership and services to staff, including client satisfaction, sales, delivering excellence, building employee capabilities and trust, and profitability.
Responsibilities will include:
• Provides leadership to staff, including:
o Maintain a productive staff in balance with workload
o Development of staff capabilities, both technical and leadership
o Recruitment and retention of staff
o Risk management
o Direct sales to clients
• Provides leadership in delivery of services, including:
o Project management
o Collaboration
o Client relations
o Techniques to maintain an effective Quality Assurance/Quality Control program
o Negotiations and contracting
o Written project plans, budgets, schedules, and define deliverables
o Project plan execution
o Ensure project performance
o Compliance with company policies
• Provides leadership in financial performance by:
o Manage revenue factor, overhead, revenue growth and cash flow
o Completion of projects within budget
o Meet financial performance objectives
o Meet quality standards for delivery

Job Requirements: This position requires a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program and a minimum of fifteen years of experience. Candidate should be registered in Tennessee as an Engineer. The applicant should be a LEED Accredited Professional and possess demonstrated experience with LEED certified projects including management of the LEED on-line process.

Other Required Skills: The successful candidate must have technical credibility, strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines, strong marketing skills and teambuilding skills. Candidate must also be able to promote collaboration. The applicant should have experience working with Knoxville area municipal clients and the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
